Vocational High School Varaždin is a partner in the Erasmus+ project Digital Literacy – Readiness 4 ALL. School partners from Italy, Turkey, Portugal, Lithuania and Norway also participate in the project.
Currently, as part of the project, two mobilities for teachers to the countries participating in the project have been completed. The first teacher mobility was to Lithuania, and the second to Norway.
Four teachers participated in the mobility in Norway from March 4 to 8, 2024 – Martina Košćak (project coordinator), Monika Tuk Štokić, Jasna Majhen and Mateja Rusak.
The Akademiet VGS Oslo high school for media, communication and information technology in the center of the city’s Bislett district organized interesting educational content for teachers from partner schools in its modernly equipped classrooms.
In five working days, workshops were held on the topic of programming and artificial intelligence. The workshops were held by a high school teacher and a professor at the University of Oslo, Hakon Liltved Hyrve, a programming specialist. The participants became familiar with the basic terms in programming. After the education, the teachers did the practical part and perfected their skills so that they could transfer their knowledge in the continuation of the project to their students and teachers in their schools.
In Scratch, they programmed content related to their subjects and got a visual representation of a video game. In this way, teachers became familiar with the possibilities of applying programming in the education of their students in different teaching contents.
As a part of the education from the Tinkercad program, all participants created 3D models that will be printed on a 3D printer at our school and will be used in classes.
The last day of the training was reserved for ChatGPT, a computer program designed to simulate conversations over the Internet using artificial intelligence. In a constructive conversation and discussion, the teachers mentioned their positive and negative experiences in using ChatGPT in class, as well as the problems that the program presents in the assessment of students’ knowledge.
The next mobility within the project will be the mobility of students and teachers to ltaly.
